HIV / AIDS
Human Immunodeficiency Virus

HIV is a virus which can be passed on via blood or body fluids. People infected with HIV experience gradual deterioration of the immune system, and eventually become unable to resist infections and illnesses which are unusual in people with healthy immune systems. When a person develops these illnesses, they are said to have AIDS—Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome.
