Genital Herpes
Herpes simplex virus

Genital Herpes is caused by herpes simplex virus type l or type ll. Either type can infect the mouth (producing cold sores) or the genital area (genital herpes).

We welcome enquiries from health professionals or service organisations but regret that limited resources preclude responding to enquiries from individual patients or students.  Please refer to related sites which provide question answering services.

The vaccine trial for Genital Herpes has now closed.  Results will not be known for 2 years.  We are unable to answer any questions in relation to this trial.
