Should I see a doctor...

Symptoms of Sexually Transmitted Diseases

The following symptoms are often, although not always, associated with sexually transmitted diseases. If you experience any of them, you should see a doctor without delay. The only way to be certain of the diagnosis is to have appropriate medical examination and tests.

Discharge from the penis or vagina

Painful or uncomfortable sensation on passing urine

Sores or ulcers on the genitals

Lumps on the genitals

Itching around the genitals

Redness, tightness or discomfort of the foreskin

It is possible to have a sexually transmitted disease with no symptoms. You might be at risk if you have had unprotected sex with a new partner, or if you have had sex with someone known to have a sexually transmitted disease.
